Five police officers killed in Kano road accident
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of five officers in a tragic motor accident that occurred early Tuesday along the Zaria-Kano road.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, the accident took place in Karfi village, located in Kura Local Government Area, while the officers were returning to Kano from an official assignment.
During a telephone interview with PUNCH Online, Haruna explained that the vehicle carrying the officers collided head-on with a trailer, resulting in the devastating loss of life.

“Five officers died on the spot, and 11 others sustained injuries,” Haruna reported. The injured officers were quickly rushed to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where they are receiving medical treatment for varying degrees of injuries.
This heartbreaking incident highlights the dangers law enforcement officers face even outside of their primary duties, and the entire community mourns the loss of these brave men.
The Kano State Police Command has not yet provided additional details regarding the cause of the accident but continues to investigate.
