Five-storey building under construction collapses in Anambra school
In a fortunate turn of events, a five-storey building under construction at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School in Onitsha, Anambra State, collapsed without claiming any lives.
The building, which was being constructed by the Anglican School, had reached its finishing stages when the incident occurred around 7:15 am on Wednesday.

According to a source within the school, who preferred to remain anonymous, the institution had invested a substantial amount of resources in the construction project.

The source revealed that the collapse occurred progressively, starting from the top floor until the entire building collapsed. Fortunately, the failed structure posed no immediate danger to the students as the hostel was situated at a safe distance from the construction site.
While the incident is undoubtedly a setback for the school and the Anglican community, the absence of fatalities serves as a silver lining amidst the tragedy.
It underscores the importance of adhering to strict safety protocols in construction projects to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
