Five Zamfara varsity students kidnapped, protesting colleagues block major road
Bandits have abducted five university students from Zamfara State.
Angered by the situation, scores of colleagues of the students took to the streets on Saturday morning blocking major roads in Gusau, the state capital.
The protesters, who are mainly students of Federal University, Gusau, according to a report by Daily Trust on Saturday.
The protesting students reportedly blocked the Zaria-Sokoto highway, leaving motorists and passengers trapped.
There has been an upsurge in the spate of bandit attacks on Zamfara communities and kidnapping of people including students.
