Ghana on Satuday stopped Nigeria from qualifying for a major football tournament for the second time in 2022 as they edged out the Super Eagles B team on 5-4 penalties after a 2-2 aggregate score.
Although the Nigerian team did recover from a 2-0 deficit in the first leg last weekend in Cape Coast, Ghana, scoring twice in the final 15 minutes of the second half of the match played at the MKO Stadium, Abuja, the Ghananians snatched the victory in a penalty shoot-out.
While Ghana scored all five, Maurice Ugochukwu missed his penalty, knocking the Eagles out of the CHAN 2023 tournament, which will be held in Algeria.
