Coscharis Motors Plc has added Ford trucks to its large range of auto products as Ford Trucks has announced the appointment of the firm as the official distributor of its vehicles and operations in Nigeria.
The truck manufacturers said it selected Coscharis Motors as a way of building on its current success in the country.
A statement by Abiona Babarinde, General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Coscharis Group, reported Ford Trucks as saying that with the partnership, it would offer truck sales, after-sale services and spare parts for its customers in Nigeria, thus strengthening its position in Africa.
It aimed to become a strong name in the heavy truck market in the region and concrete its position by this strategic move, it added.
Vice President of Ford Trucks, Serhan Turfan, was quoted as saying, “We believe that Coscharis will represent our brand in Nigeria excellently. Building on our steady presence in the region, our new facility in Lagos is an important milestone for our operations in the country.
“As an innovative brand that listens to our customers’ needs, we have strengthened our products according to the Nigerian market based on our experience on the continent for the last 10 years. We are proud to have trucks in Africa that reached more than one million kilometres and have a concrete position in the markets.”
He stressed that Ford Trucks was pleased to partner Coscharis, which he described as a leading and respected brand name in the auto sector in Nigeria.
