Four burnt to death, eight others injured in Ore-Ijebu Ode road crash
A devastating auto crash on the Ore-Ijebu Ode expressway has left four people dead and eight others severely injured.
The accident, which occurred at RCC Ogbere around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, involved a white Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number XA690AKU.
According to Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun Sector Command, 18 people were involved in the crash. The cause of the accident has been attributed to driver fatigue and loss of control.

Okpe explained, “A total of 18 people were involved, comprising eight male adults and 10 female adults. Tragically, one male adult and three female adults lost their lives, while four male adults and four female adults sustained serious burns. The remaining passengers were unharmed.”
The injured victims have been taken to the state hospital in Ijebu-Ode for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the hospital mortuary.
FRSC Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin urged motorists to prioritize rest before embarking on long journeys, recommending drivers take a 15 to 30-minute break after every four hours of driving to avoid accidents caused by fatigue.
