Four persons struck dead by thunderstorms, lightning
Four people were killed by lightning in Nasarawa State, while others are claimed to be in critical condition.
On Saturday, November 25, 2023, an event occurred at the Nasarawa garage in the state’s Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Aleeyou Mabudi, an eyewitness, stated that the incident occurred while he was having his automobile repaired.
“I witnessed the most intense and scary thunder strike a few minutes ago here in Nasarawa. I was at the Nasarawa Garage getting a car fixed when I suddenly heard a loud rumble and bright light. A lot of people actually ran not knowing what it was,” he narrated.

“Shortly after the thunderous event, a gathering formed under a tree where it was discovered that three individuals had tragically lost their lives due to the lightning strike. This is the first time I’m seeing something this terrifying in my whole life.”
Meanwhile, the member representing Nasarawa Central constituency and Chairperson of the Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident in a statement has condoled with families of the victims.
“We commiserate with the families of those who lost their lives and sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the thunder strike in Nasarawa Garage/Mechanic workshop Nasarawa Local Government. We pray that ALLAH grants those who lost their lives eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear this great loss.” the statement read.
