Four suspected terrorists surrender, blame severe hunger

The ongoing fight against terrorism in the North-East has marked another victory as four Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have surrendered to combined troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai, and local hunters in Kaga Local Government Area, Borno State, between June 3 and 5, 2024.

The suspected terrorists, identified as Baana Duguri, Momodu Fantami, Abubakar Isani, and Zainami Dauda, surrendered on the outskirts of Mainok in Kaga.

According to security analyst and counter insurgency expert, intelligence sources on Thursday said the terrorists relinquished their weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, 99 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, seven AK-47 magazines, two hand grenades, four Baofeng radios, two bandoliers, one bag, an ISWAP uniform, and two motorcycles.

The report also indicate that the terrorists, who were coming from the Damboa general area, cited severe hunger and hardship in their camp as the primary reasons for their decision to surrender. They expressed their unwillingness to continue their involvement in terrorist activities.
