Fuel subsidy: Tinubu to announce new minimum wage next week
President Bola Tinubu will next week announce a new minimum wage as part of government’s package for post-fuel subsidy removal.
President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo, disclosed in an interview with newsmen in Abuja.
He said the Minister of Labour. Simon Lalong told them during his meeting with the labour team held on Tuesday.

Osifo mentioned that the conversation the Minister of Labour had with President Tinubu and the Finance Minister Olawale Edun regarding the wage award.
He said, “The Minister of Labour (Simon Lalong) informed us that he discussed the wage award issue with President Tinubu and the Finance Minister. However, the President advised them to further refine the details before making a public announcement.”
Osifo added, “The minister assured us that all related matters would be sorted out soon. However, due to the President’s travel commitments, he requested an additional two-week window.
“We, on our part, expressed our inability to wait for an extended period.
“After much deliberation, it was agreed that the President would make the necessary announcements next week.”
