German police kill gunman near Israeli consulate in Munich
On Thursday, German police fatally shot a gunman near Munich’s Nazi-era documentation centre and the Israeli consulate, according to Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann.
The gunman reportedly fired at police officers, prompting a swift and forceful response that resulted in his death.
Details about the gunman’s identity and motives have not yet been released. The incident is particularly concerning given its proximity to the sensitive historical site and the Israeli consulate.

“Police responded with armed force against the perpetrator, who was carrying a rifle and had fired several shots,” Herrmann stated. The gunman succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the shooting to better understand the events that led up to it.
