Gospel artiste Aduke Gold dies
Nigerian gospel music artiste, Aduke Gold is dead.
The news of the musician whose real names is Aduke Ajayi came on Tuesday and shared by fellow gospel artist, Esther Igbekele. Igbekele posted a tribute on social media with a picture of Aduke Gold.
She wrote, “A general has fallen. ADUKE GOLD #rip”
The cause of her death could not be immediately confirmed.
Aduke Gold grew up in the Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos and was the 11th child of her late parents.
She became an orphan at age four old and faced numerous challenges from a young age.
She often shared her story of hawking goods at a tender age.
Aduke Gold’s health issues were a huge part of her life.
Her battle with vertigo, which caused frequent fainting spells, was a constant challenge she had to face while pursuing her music career.
She started professional music in 2004, and rose to fame with her live performance at the first remembrance of the late gospel artiste, Baba Are.
One of her famous tracks, “Nitori Ogo” which she released in 2021 further brought her into limelight.
Aduke holds a degree in History and International Studies from the Lagos State University and a postgraduate degree in Child Psychology from the United Kingdom.
