Gov Abiodun eulogises socialite Edionseri Cash Madam, who died at 89
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed sorrow on the passing of notable businesswoman and socialite, Mrs Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as Cash Madam.
Edionseri died on Sunday January 5, 2025 at the age of 89, after a brief illness.
She gained prominence as a socialite when she was praised and named as ‘Cash Madam’ in one of the albums of Juju maestro, Ebenezer Obey, in the 1970s.
Governor Abiodun, in a statement on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, described the death of Cash Madam as a great loss to the state and Nigeria.
The governor noted that Edionseri made vital contributions to Ogun State.
He also said the deceased was a beacon of inspiration and a role model for countless individuals.
The governor noted that her legacy as a successful entrepreneur and social figure left an indelible mark, resonating across generations since the 1970s.
He stated that she achieved remarkable success at a young age, demonstrating resilience and ambition that had inspired many in Ogun and beyond.
He prayed that God should give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“Alhaja Adebisi’s contributions to the business community and her vibrant social presence will be reference points for generations yet unborn.
”Her influence extended far and wide, making her a cherished figure in the hearts of many.”
The family announced that her funeral would take place according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4pm at her residence in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Abeokuta.
