Governor hailed over new salary structure for lecturers, others

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone A, has applauded Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for approving a new salary structure for workers in the state’s tertiary institutions.

Governor Sani had on Thursday confirmed the approval, which applies to staff and lecturers at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, and the College of Education, Gidan Waya.

In a statement released on Sunday in Kaduna, Ibrahim Bashir, Secretary-General of NANS Zone A, said the development ended a salary issue that had persisted for more than 15 years, impacting morale, productivity, and stability across the state’s tertiary institutions.

“This marks the fulfillment of a long-awaited demand,” he said.

Bashir noted that the governor’s decisive step resolved a longstanding challenge that previous administrations had ignored.

He explained that the approval had renewed optimism and strengthened public trust in the government’s commitment to the welfare of its people, particularly in the education sector.

According to him, Sani’s leadership reflects empathy, open dialogue, and a genuine passion for educational progress throughout the state.

By focusing on staff welfare and institutional stability, Bashir said the governor had shown his conviction that Kaduna’s and Nigeria’s future rests on investment in education and human capital development.

He further commended Sani’s visionary leadership and consistent backing of the education sector, assuring that NANS would continue to support his administration in promoting learning, innovation, and youth empowerment across the state.
