Governor Ikpeazu sacks all appointed aides
Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has sacked all his political appointees in the state after his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, failed to win the governorship election in the state.
It was learnt that the sacking affected affected Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers and Technical Officers.

This has thus increased the number of appointees sacked by the governor after he also lost the senatorial election.
The governor therefore directed the state Accountant General to ensure immediate payment of March 2023 stipends to all the appointees.
This was made public by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem.
The governor thanked the aides for their contributions and services to the state.
