Elupo Eliazer, a person with disability whose wife is among the victims, said the kidnappers later called to demand  N30 million ransom before they reduced it to N2.6 million after negotiation.

Eliazer said: “My wife and I were travelling to attend our church’s convention scheduled for Lokoja, but I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota vehicle could not contain all of us, else I would have been in the car with her.”

He said the vehicle his wife was travelling in was ahead of the one he was in, adding that all the occupants of the vehicle had been marched into the bush by the time his own vehicle got to the spot.

However, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, promised to find out on the development.

He has, however, yet to do so as of the time of filing this report
