Gunmen kill University of Ibadan professor, steal his car
Gunmen have killed a professor at the University of Ibadan, Opeyemi Isaac Ajewole.
He was reportedly killed on Monday night, while returning to his home in the Moniya area of Ibadan.
The killers also made away with his car, Toyota Corolla, after he was shot dead.
A source in the university said on Tuesday that Ajewole’s corpse was deposited at UI Anatomy.
Ajewole, until his death, was a lecturer in the Department of Forest Resources Management of the university.
A friend of the deceased, Olukayode Ogunsanwo, also confirmed the death of the don.
“Yes. It is true. It is true,” he said.
“But we are not sure if it is armed robbers or hired assassins,” he said.

Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Communications, at the university, Joke Akinpelu, also confirmed the incident.
“He was killed yesterday. The incident happened yesterday.”
But she did not give further details about the development.
