Hardship: I feel your pains, Tinubu tells Nigerians

Amidst the prevailing challenges, President Bola Tinubu empathizes with Nigerians, acknowledging the burdens they endure due to governmental policies. During his visit to Reuben Fasoranti, a prominent figure in the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, in Akure, Ondo state, Tinubu expressed his commitment to alleviating the nation’s hardships.

At the meeting, dare Ajayi, Afenifere’s spokesperson, relayed Tinubu’s assurance of alleviating the current situation. “He appreciates the pains Nigerians are going through,” Ajayi quoted, “and assures that Nigeria will soon overcome it.”

Tinubu elaborated on his plans, emphasizing the necessity of time for the government’s policies to yield positive outcomes. He stressed the importance of restructuring as a pathway to economic recovery, acknowledging the challenges faced upon assuming office.

“I prayed, danced, campaigned, and now I’m here,” Tinubu remarked, acknowledging the weight of his responsibilities. He assured Nigerians of his steadfast commitment to building enduring structures that would lead the nation to its rightful place economically, socially, and politically.

Addressing concerns about Nigeria’s debt and the imperative of restructuring, Tinubu underscored the need for a solid foundation before implementing reforms. He warned against hasty actions that could jeopardize the restructuring process.

In response, Pa Fasoranti commended Tinubu’s dedication to his mandate and urged him to continue governing with fairness and courage. He emphasized the importance of constitutional reforms and fiscal federalism to secure a prosperous future for Nigeria.

“We seek a true Federal Republic,” Fasoranti stated, advocating for regional autonomy and equitable distribution of resources. He called for institutional reforms to enhance security and economic prosperity, particularly at the grassroots level.

Fasoranti highlighted the significance of redirecting funds previously allocated for fuel subsidies towards grassroots development, urging state governors to prioritize the welfare of their constituents.

As Nigeria navigates its challenges, Tinubu’s visit and dialogue with Afenifere signify a collective effort towards addressing the nation’s pressing concerns and charting a path towards a more prosperous future.
