Hardship: Man commits suicide in Ogun
A 45-year-old man, Ayobami Oshoko, tragically took his own life in Abeokuta, Ogun State, reportedly due to the hardship he was facing.
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 30, 2024, at his residence in the Mango, Oke-Ata area.
Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, revealing that Oshoko was believed to have ingested insecticide.

His sister, Funmilayo, discovered his lifeless body and reported the situation to the Lafenwa Police Division. A bottle of insecticide was found beside him, indicating suicide as the cause of death.
“A friend of the deceased visited his home and asked to see him. Upon entering the room, he discovered the victim’s body on the floor and raised the alarm after finding that the victim had ingested a mixture of insecticide and herbal concoction,” the PPRO stated.
“He left a note written in Yoruba language, explaining the reasons behind his decision. In the note, he expressed frustration with his life and stated that he felt he had no choice but to end it. A discreet investigation is currently underway.”
