Hardship: Stop blaming opposition parties for your incompetence, failure – PDP replies APC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described as hypocritical claims by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, that opposition parties are sponsoring protests over hardship in the country to undermine president Bola Tinubu’s govt.

Recall that youths in their hundreds flocked the street in Minna, Niger State capital and Kano to protest pervasive economic hardship and high cost of living.

The APC in a statement issued on Monday buy its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, claimed that opposition parties are instigating unsuspecting young Nigerians to embark on protest across the country.

Reacting, PDP in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, tackled the ruling party for failing to admit that the party’s policies landed the country in its current state.

The party lamented the absence of the president in the country at critical point.

The statement reads partly, “It is sad that in all of these, President Tinubu is missing in action as he holidays in France at the expense of the Nigerian treasury.

“The APC must understand and come to terms with the fact that there is frustration in the land because of the suffocating economic and social policies; laidback attitude to security and massive corruption in the Tinubu administration.

“Instead of being hypocritical by pointing fingers at the opposition, the APC should admit the failure of its policies and take urgent and concrete action to get President Tinubu to lift his knees off the neck of Nigerians so that the people can breathe.”
