Horror as hoodlums behead police inspector in A’Ibom
A police inspector in Akwa Ibom State has been killed in a bizarre manner as he was beheaded by people suspected to be hoodlums, causing panic in the state.
The victim identified simply as Osang was attacked by over 10 assailants Wednesday night at his private residence around Enen Afaha Afaha Ube, a suburb of Uyo, the state capital.
An eyewitness said that there was heavy shooting in the area as residents and passersby scampered for safety.
They could however not give what led to the killing of the police inspector.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Odiko Mac-Don, confirmed the incident, describing the murder of the police officer as very unfortunate.
He said, “We have received that information and it is an unfortunate situation.
“Already, an investigation is ongoing and we are committed to ridding the streets of criminal elements.
“Again, we are not deterred and we are committed to ensuring that, criminally minded persons will account for their actions.”
