‘How APC will share N30b from nomination forms’

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will soon present a sharing formula for the N30billion generated from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms.

The formula will be presented to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for approval.

The NEC meeting is slated for the second or third week in September, subject to the itinerary and approval of the National Leader President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Nation gathered that the party generated about N30 billion from the sale of expression and nomination forms to the presidential, governorship and national and state assembly aspirants.

The sum of N2.2 billion was realised from the 23 presidential aspirants; and N26.4 billion from the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and the state house of assembly aspirants.

A source said the NWC recently put machinery in motion to propose a sharing formula that will be presented to NEC at the proposed September meeting for approval.

It may hold another 80 to 85 per cent of the total amount realised from the sale of other forms, while about 10 per cent of the total money realised in each state for the sale of governorship, national and state assemblies forms will go to the states.

The committee is proposing a fraction of the total money realised from each of the six geopolitical zones be given to each of them.

Over N1 billion was raked in by the party from Oyo, Lagos, Ogun, Benue, Niger, Adamawa, Plateau and Bauchi states.

Oyo tops the list with N1.66 billion while the party got N1.62 billion and N1.4 billion from Lagos and Benue states.

From the Southsouth geopolitical zone, APC made N480 million and N304 million from Delta and Bayelsa states.

In Ebonyi, the party garnered N610 million from the sale of nomination forms.
