How my 1yr marriage almost cost my sanity – Oshodi Oke
Veteran actress, Ibironke Ojo, professionally known as Ronke Oshodi Oke, has shared the traumatic mental experience her failed marriage exposed her to.
She opened up about suffering mental strain which almost made her go insane in her marriage that barely lasted a year after a decade-long courtship with her ex.
The movie producer described the disclosure as ‘mental torture’, noting no one deserved to be subjected to that.
According to her, it got so bad that she began to hear voices in her head and almost walked out late one night naked but a friend of hers, Bunmi, now deceased; saved her.

Relating her personal experience, Oke said: “At a point, I almost lost my sanity, like mo fe ya were (I wanted to go mad).
“I got out of my ex-husband’s bedroom naked, I was going out. May Bunmi’s soul rest in perfect peace, you know her? She was the one that drew me back. I was about walking out stark naked in the middle of the night.
“I was just hearing ‘lagatin’ from a very far place. It was that bad.
“That mental torture, it’s not good for anybody. You see, there is a difference between a man who doesn’t have any money and a man who doesn’t care. If a man doesn’t care, it’s very bad.”
