I just accepted call to serve as Shettima’s SA, says Baba-Ahmed, Datti’s brother
Spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has been appointed as the special adviser on political matters to Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
Baba-Ahmed is an elder brother to Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 election.
Baba-Ahmed announced this in a post on Monday on his official X page, adding that he had accepted the call to serve in that capacity.
He said that this was no time for fence-sitting or criticism and urged Nigerians to pray for him and the country.
“It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP, @KShettim,” he said.
“This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country round. I am honored and humbled. Please pray for me & Nigeria.”
Recall that Baba-Ahmed was chief of staff to former Senate President Bukola Saraki between 2017 and 2019.
