FCT Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike

I will commit you to prison, owner of demolished building promises Wike

One Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Kamba says he will commit the FCT minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, to prison.

The Abuja developer also vow to sue the Director of the Development Control for overstepping the bounds of his powers.

The Federal Capital Development Authority, earlier in the week, demolished a duplex under construction at Plot 226, Cotonou Street, Wuse Zone 6, claimed to be owned by one Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Kamba, citing it was sitting on someone else’s land without valid title.

But in a press statement signed by his counsel, Okechukwu C. Uju-Azorji, the developer said they would institute a legal action against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory for abuse of the processes of the FCT High Court.

He insisted that the plot in contention belonged to the predecessor in title of their client, who had built a guest house (popularly called “Boys’ Quarters”) on the plot where he was collecting rent for upwards of 25 years before selling and handing over possession to the client in 2019.

“Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Kamba in turn bought the property during the lifetime of the original allottee, Oyebade Lipede.

“When our client commenced the development of the plot including the renovation of the existing guest house, a certain Abuja based legal practitioner took out a Direct Criminal Complaint against our client at the Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja for trespass, claiming that the property belonged to Oyebade Lipede, the late Alake of Egbaland. The suit was dismissed on 1/9/2020 with the Grade 1 Area Court Judge specifically urging the parties to refer the matter to FCT High Court since it has become issue of title to land.

‘’Rather than bring an action in court for declaration of title to the land, the said Abuja based legal practitioner was busy approaching different segments of the Federal Capital Territory Administration where it has become obvious that he enjoyed the cooperation of some persons, who unfortunately bought into his narrative that the plot belonged to the late Alake of Egbaland.”

The statement added that they would join the Director of Development Control of the FCTA to the pending suit for abuse of office

Why I claimed Ooni is my father – Man recants, apologises (+ VIDEO)

In a dramatic turn of events, a middle-aged man whose bold claim of being the son of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, captured widespread attention in a viral video, has now delivered a public apology to the revered traditional ruler.

The apology followed significant controversy stirred by the man’s initial claim, prompting a swift response from the Ooni’s palace.

In the contentious video, the individual, clad in a traditional white Agbada, boldly asserted that Oba Ogunwusi had instructed him and his mother to keep their lineage discreet.

Oba Enitan Ogunwunsi is my father. He hid me with my mother with a clear instruction that I must not reveal myself,” the man claimed in Yoruba.

In a subsequent online video released last Friday, the man expressed sincere regret over any confusion or distress caused by his initial claims.

He explained that his actions were driven by a series of dreams involving the Ooni, which he interpreted as significant.

READ ALSO:

According to him, these dreams led him to believe he had a special connection with the monarch, prompting his public appeal.

“I have a reason for creating that video. In 2022, I found myself beside the Ooni in my dream, engaging in discussions,” he said.

Despite his unsuccessful attempts to meet the Ooni in person, he resorted to creating the video as a final attempt to grab attention.

The man, who chose not to disclose his identity in either video, earnestly appealed to the Ooni for understanding, expressing;

My esteemed father, please do not be displeased with me. I did not create the video to defame you; rather, I made it to attract your attention so that I could narrate my dream to you and hopefully meet you.”

He also urged the Nigerian public not to misuse his video to defame the Ooni, emphasizing that his intentions were solely to seek an audience with the monarch, not to spark controversy or dishonor.
