President-elect Bola Tinubu says the road to his victory at the poll has been long and pledged to work day and night to make Nigeria better.
He spoke in Abuja Wednesday afternoon after he was presented a certificate of return along with the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu.
Tinubu said, “The road has been long, yet we worked it. The battle has been hard fought, yet we won it.”
According to him, his certificate of return symbolises that each Nigerian has the ability to achieve their dreams.
“By taking this sacrifice, I accept a sacred duty. I will work day and night to make Nigeria better. We are committed to the progress and development of Nigeria,” he said.
The event took place Wednesday afternoon at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was early Wednesday morning declared winners of the presidential election held last Saturday.
He secured a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 6,984,520 votes
