Imo bridge auto crash claims 16 lives

Imo bridge auto crash claims 16 lives

In a heartbreaking incident on Tuesday, at least 16 people lost their lives in a tragic auto crash on Njaba Bridge, located along the Owerri-Orlu Expressway in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

This narrow bridge has a grim history, with multiple fatal accidents reported over the years.

According to eyewitness accounts, the commercial vehicle lost control, slamming into the bridge’s railings before plunging into the river below.

The bus’s overcrowded seating and the sudden panic among passengers made it challenging for them to escape, and sadly, all were found dead when locals rushed to the scene in a rescue effort.

Although the Imo State Police Command has yet to officially confirm the incident, anxious families gathered at the crash site, hoping to locate missing loved ones.
