A Nigerian residing in Delhi, India, has attempted suicide over news of his parents’ death.
According to Times of India, the 37-year-old Nigerian, simply identified as Ndinojuo, jumped from the second floor of a building on March 18 after he was told that his father and mother had lost their lives in a car accident in Nigeria.
Ndinojuo was said to have fractured both legs from the impact of the fall. He was rushed to a nearby hospital when the police arrived at the scene.

“He told us that after getting information about his father and mother’s death in an accident in his home country, he got upset,” Harendra Kumar Singh, a police spokesperson, said in a statement on March 26.
“He then jumped from the second floor of a building.”
Ndinojuo was said to have apologised for actions, stating that he had been battling depression for a while before he was told about his parents’ death.
It is unclear whether the Nigerian will still be prosecuted by the police for his action.
