The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken a fresh step towards registering the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as a political party in Nigeria.
INEC acknowledged receipt of ADA’s application, which was submitted by the party’s Protem National Chairman on June 19, 2025.
This was contained in a letter dated June 27, 2025, and signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony.
“The Commission is processing your application in line with the provision of Part 1, clause 2(ii) of our Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties, 2022,” the letter stated.
The correspondence marks the first formal communication between INEC and the promoters of ADA.

This development comes as INEC recently confirmed it had received 110 applications from various groups seeking registration as political parties.
The promoters of ADA are widely believed to be forming the party as part of an opposition coalition, aimed at preventing President Bola Tinubu from securing re-election in 2027.
