INEC shifts Enugu senatorial poll to March 11

The Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the Enugu East Senatorial election originally scheduled for Saturday February 25, 2023.

The shift followed the assassination of the Labour Party candidate for the election, Oyibo Chukwu.

Ojukeu and five others were killed and set ablaze while returning to Enugu on Wednesday night, February 22.

According to INEC, the election would now hold alongside the governorship polls on March 11.
