The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, has said he cannot be a mole for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In fact, Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, declared that he had never met with the APC presidential candidate and former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu.
He was reacting to rumours that he was planted in the PDP by the ruling party and that he is an ally of Bola Tinubu.
In an interview with NAN, Adediran said it would be illogical for him to be APC’s mole and “be giving them headaches”.
Adediran said though he was a member of the APC until January 2022, he never had a one-on-one meeting with Tinubu.
He added that he is “strongly determined” to end the APC’s reign in the state.
“It might be difficult for anybody to believe that I have never had a one-on-one meeting with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,” he said.
“I have not set my feet on his Bourdillon house. Yes, I was coming from APC, but I have never been elected nor appointed. I have only been a consultant on that corridor.”
On the impacts of the crisis rocking the PDP at the national level, Adediran said the party has no problem that could affect its fortune in the 2023 elections.
He said the G5 PDP governors are still major stakeholders in the party.
“For those who can take time to do a thorough diagnosis of the situation that is happening within the PDP, we know that the PDP has no problem either at the national level or at the state level,” he said.
“None of the aggrieved governors is telling party members in their respective states to do otherwise on election day. They are major stakeholders in the PDP business in their respective states.”
Adediran also dismissed reports that his candidacy was opposed by Bode George, a former PDP national deputy chairman.
“Chief Bode George never opposed my candidacy. He is my leader; he wants to see the PDP win Lagos,” he said.
Meanwhile, Adediran said he would establish a Lagos4Lagos airline if elected governor to boost social and economic activities in the commercial nerve centre.
“We are going to have Lagos4Lagos Air. How can Akwa Ibom, which is not making money as much as we are, have an airline and manage it well, and we don’t have one? We will make Lagos money work for all,” he said.
