JAMB postpones 2025 UTME registration to February

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the commencement of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to February 3.

The registration was initially set to begin on Friday, January 31, but has been postponed.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s national spokesperson, said the decision is to allow the board to make essential adjustments to its registration templates.

The changes follow the suspension of some law programmes at selected universities, as advised by the Council for Legal Education.

Benjamin said the board has uncovered that some computer-based test (CBT) centres gained approval through deceptive means.

He said the board is taking further steps to disapprove such centres and ensure the integrity of the examination process.

JAMB acknowledged the disruption the postponement may cause candidates and stakeholders and apologised for any inconvenience.

It assured the public that the additional time would be used to refine the registration process and ensure a seamless experience.

Earlier, the board said its UTME registration will close on March 5 across all JAMB-accredited CBT centres nationwide.

It said expression of interest for JAMB’s 2025 mock UTME would close by February 23 while the actual registration would end on March 8.

The director stated that the mock UTME would come up on April 5.

He said the main UTME would start on April 25 and end on May 5.

For Direct Entry, sales of application documents would start by March 10 and close by April 7.
