Joe Igbokwe faults Lloyd Ekweremmadu for throwing elaborate wedding with his parents in prison

Joe Igbokwe faults Lloyd Ekweremmadu for throwing elaborate wedding with his parents in prison

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has faulted Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu Jnr, for staging an elaborate wedding in Abuja while his parents, Ike Ekweremadu and Beatrice, are in prison.

Three former senate presidents — Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark and Bukola Saraki — were among those in attendance when Lloyd got married to his heartthrob, Tiffany Obinna-Uzor, at the Basilica of Grace Anglican Church, Gudu district, Abuja, on Saturday August 19.

The wedding was also attended by Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections; Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker; Dino Melaye, a former senator; and David Umahi, former Ebonyi governor, among others.

The former Deputy Senate President (Ike Ekweremadu) and his wife could not attend the wedding as they are currently in the UK prison serving terms after they were found guilty of organ trafficking.

Posting a photo from the wedding, Igbokwe said the new “generation scares him”.

He stated, “If I were to be Ekweremmadu’s son, I would not have staged this elaborate wedding ceremony with my father and mother in prison.

“I would have done a low key marriage ceremony and wait till my parents are free. This generation scares me stiff.”
