Jonathan’s kinsmen declare support for Tinubu

  • APC candidate most reliable presidential candidate, say Southeast groups

  • Minister: ex-Lagos governor will build on Buhari’s agric revolution

  • Lawyers, MUSWEN others endorse Asiwaju, Shettima

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has continued to get massive endorsements across the country.

They include the major supporters and kinsmen of former President Goodluck Jonathan who declared their support for the APC presidential candidate at the weekend.

Members of the support group, under the auspices of Citizens Network for Peace and Development in Nigeria (CNPDN), told reporters in Abuja that since Dr. Jonathan did not join the 2023 presidential race, despite their persistent prodding, the right thing to do was to support Asiwaju Tinubu.

They described the former Lagos State governor as the only candidate with solid structures and capacity to win the election, besides being a Southerner.

The coalition’s National Secretary Francis Okereke Wainwei, from Bayelsa State, told reporters that as patriotic citizens, members of the coalition could not refrain from participating in the nation’s electoral process. Wainwei said: “As patriotic citizens, under the auspices of the Citizens Network For Peace and Development in Nigeria, we took it up as a burning need for us to be actively involved in the process leading to the election of Nigeria’s next president, who shall be taking over from President Muhammadu Buhari next year

“We went further to examine the capacity, competence, political experience and nationwide acceptability of the presidential candidates from Southern Nigeria and we discovered that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, tops the other candidates.

“We hereby declare our total support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, as our preferred candidate for the office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, come 2023.”

Also, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammad Abubakar, has said Asiwaju Tinubu will build on the successes recorded in the Agricultural sector under President Muhammadu Buhari.

The minister lauded the former Lagos State governor’s deep vision for the country’s Agricultural sector.

Also, the Southeast Director of Support Group Coordination Directorate for the Ahmed Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shetima 2023 presidential project, Elias Mbam, has said the APC presidential candidate and his running mate remain the best products the electorate should identify with in the 2023 general election.

The former Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission (RMFC) said Asiwaju Tinubu has all it takes to take Nigeria to greater heights.

Also, The Lawyers’ Network for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (LANBAT) has urged Nigerians not to get carried away by politicians making series of promises to them.

LANBAT said it is only the Asiwaju Tinubu and Kashim Shettima joint presidential ticket that has provided the electorate with a clear manifesto and action plans on how to make Nigeria greater, if they win the forthcoming poll.

Also, the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has declared its support for Asiwaju Tinubu.

MUSWEN President Rasaki Oladejo announced this while addressing reporters on the sideline of the seventh General Assembly of the organisation at the University of Ibadan (UI).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that MUSWEN, at the event, presented bursary awards to 115 successful beneficiaries, drawn from across the Southwest states.

Oladejo said MUSWEN’s support for the APC candidate alongside others was not based on his religious affiliation but competence as well as his track records.

“MUSWEN has already made its intention known. We are supporting Asiwaju Tinubu to become president. Our support for Tinubu is based on his competence and track records.

“We can all see his performance as governor of Lagos and the state, till date, remains the number one most viable state in Nigeria, with lots of innovations,” he said.
