Jubilation in Taraba as governor declares free primary, secondary education
Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has declared free primary and secondary school education in the state.
Kefas announced this on Friday, creating immediate excitement among many people in the state, especially parents.
The governor had earlier slashed university tuition fees by 50 per cent to cushion the effect of current economic hardship on the people.
He said apart from fulfilling a campaign promise, the hardship occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy had made the move imperative.
Kefa said it is the government’s responsibility to bear the expenses of the primary and secondary education.
