JUST IN: 21 Nigerians died of COVID-19 on Christmas Day – NCDC

Twenty-one persons have been confirmed dead of the dreaded COVID-19 in Nigeria on Christmas Day, taking the death toll to over 3,000.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control gave the figures in a statement released early Sunday.
Indeed, the report showed that the total COVID-19 deaths in the country rose to 3,014 on Saturday.
Saturday’s death figure is said to represent the highest the nation has recorded in over two weeks.
The NCDC reported that the nation posted 1,305 new cases of the virus on Saturday, with Lagos getting 705 fresh cases and Oyo, 234 cases.
With the new infections, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria have reached 236,014.
A total of 212,357 survivors have been discharged.
