Just in: Another private jet crash-lands in Ibadan
For the second time in two months, a private jet, with 10 persons onboard, on Friday crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The jet with a registration number N580KR reportedly overshot the runway and headed for the bush when it landed around 11am at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan.
In November, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, escaped death when a plane he was travelling in crash-landed at the same airport
For the Friday’s incident, firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately deployed to the scene.
However, there was no death or casualty recorded.
“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, was quoted by Vanguard as saying.
The spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, said he would revert but he was yet to do so as of press time.
