JUST IN: Another Reps member, Ekene Adams, dies
Ekene Adams, a member of the House of Representatives representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, and Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, has passed away.
He reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday, although the cause of death has not been confirmed at this time.
Adams, known for his background in sports, previously served as the general manager of Nigeria Premier Football League side Remo Stars and Kada City before being elected to the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections.
Despite being a first-time member of the Green Chamber, his expertise in sports earned him the role of committee chairman on sports.

Upon hearing the news, various sports groups across the country have begun mourning Adams.
Alloy Chukwuemeka, former secretary of the NPFL Club Owners Association, expressed his condolences, stating, “My good friend and one of our frontline members of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, is dead. May God console his family and friends, and may his soul rest in peace.”
This unfortunate event follows closely after the recent passing of another House member, Olaide Adewale Akinremi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
