JUST IN: Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri Join 64 New Nigerian Ambassadors Approved by Senate
Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of 64 nominees as Career and Non-Career Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, following the adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The report, presented by the committee chairman, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger North), stated that all nominees were screened and found suitable for diplomatic postings, with nominations in compliance with relevant laws and guidelines governing ambassadorial appointments.
Of the confirmed nominees, 34 were approved as Career Ambassadors, while 30 were cleared as Non-Career Ambassadors. Among the Career Ambassadors confirmed are:

Of the last batch of 65 ambassadors-designate transmitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, only the nominee from Yobe State, Adamu Garba Talba Nangree, has not yet been confirmed, as he missed the Senate screening. Senator Bello confirmed that Nangree would be screened at a later date.
After adopting the report, Senate President Godswill Akpabio officially declared the nominees confirmed, urging them to serve Nigeria diligently, uphold its diplomatic interests, and project a positive image of the country in their respective postings abroad.
