The Federal Ministry of Finance building in the Central Area of Abuja has been gutted by fire.
The early morning fire was still raging as of the time of filing this report (8am) just as firefighters had arrived at the place to put out the fire.
Eye witnesses said that fire was caused by an explosion of expired inverter batteries at the basement of the building.
It was learnt that fire extinguishers found on the premises were used to fight the fire, even before the arrival of the fire service men.
