Just in: National Assembly removes compulsory direct primary clause from electoral bill

The Senate has removed clause 87 of the electoral act amendment bill which provides for a compulsory direct primary poll for all political parties in the country.

In the Senate, the change was made to the legislation after the Senate Leader, Abdullahi Yahaya, sponsored a motion on Wednesday.
