JUST IN: Police neutralise notorious bandit, Mai Subu-Dubu, recover ammunition in Sokoto
The Sokoto state police command has neutralised suspected notorious bandit and kidnap kingpin, Bello Hantsi, a.k.a Mai Dubu-Dubu of Tungar Rana Village, Sokoto state.
A statement released on Sunday, February 18, by the command spokesperson, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, and provided to reporters, indicated that the investigation unveiled the suspect as the mastermind and provider of arms and ammunition to five previously apprehended kidnapping suspects by the command.
He said the operation also resulted in the seizure of arms and ammunition, including three AK47 rifles and 90 rounds of live ammunition, while the suspects were en route to Tambuwal for a kidnapping mission.

The release said: “The anti-kidnap mobilised a coordinated a search of the suspect and on sighting the team and sensing danger at a nearby bush, head Dubu-Dubu fired a shot to escape arrest and a quick response from the team neutralized him while others flew with bullets wounds.”
However, Rufa’i explained that while scanning the scene, the body of one (1) suspected bandit, as well as one (1) Ak47 rifle with twenty-one (21) rounds of live ammunition, were recovered from the scene.
