Just in: Rivers N800bn 2024 budget is illegal, Court rules
An Abuja Federal High Court on Monday declared the N800bn 2024 budget of Rivers State as illegal.
Rivers State Governor, Simi Fubara, in December signed the N800bn 2024 Appropriation Bill into law.
This was after a faction of the state House of Assembly, comprising four lawmakers, had passed it.
On Monday, the presiding judge, James Omotosho, held that everything done by the four lawmakers was null and void.
The court also recognised Amaewhule as the speaker of the state assembly.
