Students under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Monday made good their threat to continue their protest against the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), taking it to the nation’s airports.
The students stormed the Murtala Muhammad International Airport road in the Ikeja axis of Lagos blocking movement into the airport and causing gridlock on the highway.
The protesters are seen in a viral video calling on the Federal Government to meet the demands of ASUU to enable them to return to school.

The students are also singing solidarity songs, dancing while carrying placards with inscriptions condemning the seven-month-old strike.
They were however reportedly prevented by securirity personnel drafted to the area from accessing the airport terminal.
ASUU has been in a tussle with the federal government since February 14, bringing educational activities in many government-owned tertiary institutions to a standstill over unmet demands.
Several meetings between the union and the federal government have ended in deadlock.
In response, the FG referred the matter to the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) for adjudication.
