Kane’s brace sinks Flamengo as Bayern storm to victory in six-goal thriller
Bayern Munich secured a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Flamengo RJ in a pulsating FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Bayern has now advanced to the quarter-finals to face Paris Saint-Germain.
The game, attended by 60,914 fans, was a showcase of attacking flair and defensive errors, with Bayern capitalizing on Flamengo’s mistakes to clinch the win.
Bayern struck early in the 6th minute when Erick Pulgar inadvertently headed a Joshua Kimmich corner into his own net, giving Bayern a 1-0 lead.
Harry Kane doubled the advantage in the 10th minute, drilling a low shot from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner.
Flamengo responded in the 33rd minute through Gerson, who fired a brilliant first-time shot under the crossbar to make it 1-2.
However, Leon Goretzka restored Bayern’s two-goal cushion just before halftime with a stunning strike from distance in the 41st minute, ending the first half 3-1.

The second half saw Flamengo fight back with a penalty converted by Jorginho in the 55th minute after a Bayern handball, narrowing the gap to 2-3.
Despite their efforts, Flamengo’s hopes were dashed when Harry Kane scored his second in the 73rd minute, latching onto a precise pass to fire past goalkeeper Agustín Rossi.
Flamengo’s late push, including a missed chance by Bruno Henrique, couldn’t overturn the deficit, and Bayern held firm through seven minutes of stoppage time to secure a 4-2 win.

Harry Kane was Bayern’s standout, scoring twice and earning praise for his clinical finishing, though he escaped a potential red card for a two-footed challenge.
Joshua Kimmich orchestrated play with precise set pieces and earned a yellow card for a late tackle. Leon Goretzka and Michael Olise added dynamism, while Manuel Neuer made a crucial save to deny Luiz Araújo.
For Flamengo, Gerson and Jorginho shone with their goals, and Giorgian de Arrascaeta threatened consistently but couldn’t convert key chances. Bruno Henrique and substitutes Wallace Yan and Nicolas de la Cruz injected energy, but defensive lapses proved costly.
Bayern has now advanced to face PSG in a highly anticipated quarter-final, while Flamengo exits despite a spirited performance.
