Kogi governor names new Ohinoyi, deposes three monarchs
Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has announced the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje as the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
He replaces the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ado Ibrahim.
The governor also removed three traditional rulers including Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfe, who until his removal was the chairman, Lokoja/ Kogi Local Government Area Traditional.
According to the governor, the decision to name new Ohinoyi followed the state’s Traditional and Chieftaincy Laws, Rules and Regulations, stressing that all the due processes were followed to arrived at all the resolutions.
“Having Followed through our Traditional and Chieftaincy Laws, Rules and Regulations and all the due processes, We have come to the resolutions.
Governor Bello spoke during an extraordinary executive council meeting in Lokoja, said Mallam Saidu Akawo Salihu had been appointed as the new OHIMEGE-IGU KOTON-KARFE and to be turbaned immediately to avoid vacuum.
Also removed are the the Olu of Magongo, His Royal Highness, Sam Bola and His Royal Highness, Samuel Adayi Onimisi, the Obobanyi of Emani, all the deposed traditional rulers are deposed to Niger State.
His Royal Highness, Boniface Musa, the ONU-IFE in Omala Local Government has also been suspended, indefinitely with immediate effect.
