Kwankwaso returns to Aso Rock, holds secret meeting with Tinubu
Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Thursday met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Pictures of Tinubu and the former Kano governor after the reported secret meeting at the Villa surfaced on Friday morning.
Newstrends recalls that Kwankwaso had on 9th June, 2023, met with Tinubu where he was reportedly offered a ministerial slot in the then proposed President’s cabinet.

But weeks after the meeting, Kwankwaso’s name was conspicuously missing in the ministerial list forwarded to the Senate by Tinubu, a development that was said to have devastated the ex-Kano governor’s political camp.
The former Kano governor had a few days ago met with the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, fueling speculation of political merger deal among the two notable politicians.
Details of Tinubu and Kwankwaso’s meeting were not available as at the time of filling this report.
