Dr Khalid Ndaman, the Director of Veterinary in the Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, was on Monday found dead in his office in Ilorin.
There were however controversies on the circumstances surrounding the death of the director.
A source said that Ndaman was found dead by some members of staff, another said that he slumped after reporting to duty on Monday morning and died.
The attention of his family members said to live close to the ministry was immediately called to the incident.
A member of staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the deceased as one of the most generous directors in the ministry.
The worker said, “He is from Tsaragi in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State and the corpse has been taken there for burial.
“The Ministry had wanted to take the corpse to the hospital for autopsy, but some family members said it was not necessary since he just slumped and died.”
When contacted, the spokesman for the Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the report.
Okasanmi also said police report had it that the man was found dead in his office.
He said: “The guy died in the office. It was discovered this morning that he died in the office.
“Although no foul play is being suspected, investigation into the incident still continues.”
