Lagos government launches portal for land acquisition
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has introduced the state’s electronic Geographic Information System (GIS) – a revolutionary land administration portal.
The unveiling on Friday marked the commencement of electronic land registration across the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the portal is a key element of his administration’s commitment to fostering business growth in the state.
The platform aims to streamline the cumbersome manual registration process, allowing residents to register their lands from the comfort of their homes.
Online payment options, document retrieval, and applications for Certificates of Occupancy are among the conveniences offered by the portal.

Highlighting the significance of the transition to digital land transactions, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the elimination of file-related challenges. “The era of hiding files or missing files is gone. Everything will be digitally available,” he affirmed.
Furthermore, the Governor underscored the collaborative aspect of the portal, expecting improved inter-agency cooperation. “The launch of the portal grants our esteemed customers the privilege and right to access our services, providing a secure shopping cart experience, self-serve options, and the ability to track application progress,” he noted.
The introduction of this innovative system is poised to enhance information flow, ease of access to services, and overall efficiency in land administration, marking a significant step towards a more digitally integrated governance approach in Lagos State.
