The Lagos State Government has asked owners of commercial structures at Magodo Estate to revert to their original approved plan or face the wrath of government.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako, stated this on Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Newstrends on the telephone.
According to him, the state government frowns on this development, adding that it contravenes laid down physical planning laws of the state.
Salako pointed out that residents of the estate had been agitating that these commercial structures were not included in the original planning schedule of the estate.
He said that the state government would not hesitate to apply the full force of the law on owners of commercial structures in the estate who disregarded this directive, adding that nobody is above the law of the state.
Town Planner Salako further said that in line with the THEMES agenda of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, residents of the state should comply with the extant laws guiding physical planning in the state.
On the face-off between the state government and residents of Osborne Offshore, he said that the state had no problem with the residents.
Salako pointed out that the residents’ grouse was with the developers in the estate and not the state government.
