Lagos State Drivers’ Institute in conjunction with Lagos Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service and Autoglobe Media Services is set to appreciate professional drivers who have been
of good conduct in the last one year.
General Manager of Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, stated this on a radio magazine programme, “Awaye”, on Radio Lagos
107.5FM, where she was a guest.
Tiamiyu explained that appreciating the professional drivers would strengthen the working relationship the institute had built with various transport unions, adding that it would serve as a source of encouragement to all professional drivers yet to visit the institute.
The event holding on November 09, 2021, she said, was aimed at ensuring that all professional drivers in Lagos State are well schooled in the art of driving and to encourage them in complying with the rules and regulations guiding road safety in the state.
The GM who called for active participation of all road transport stakeholders in the forthcoming Drivers’ Appreciation Day further stated that partnering LACVIS became necessary because safety on the road is not only about the drivers but also about vehicles being driven on the road.
“We want to ensure that professional drivers who have never failed to attend the institute for their yearly mandatory training and are also regularly taking their vehicles to LACVIS for proper evaluation are well appreciated. This is because if a driver is well schooled, the vehicle he is driving must also be in proper working condition. Therefore, it will be the major criteria for the selection if professional drivers that will be appreciated.”
